Sweep

I had one earlier today, definitely unpleasant but pain was manageable 😂. Try to relax!! No idea if it will work or not haha

I thought mine was very mild in comparison to how I was thinking it would feel. I was like “is this it?” Then maybe like 10 ish hours later my water broke and I went into labor 😂 my biggest regret was after the sweep not going home and getting some rest (my silly self cleaned and baked the day away… and continued to bake throughout the first few hours of labor

Had mine 4pm yesterday went into hospital at 10pm and gave birth 1.46 am this morning 😂 I didn’t really feel the sweep happening

@Madelyn yeah I think I’ve put it in my head it’s going to be very painful rather than expecting it not to hurt and being shocked😂 and ahh that’s good to hear as I’m over due and want baby here now so really hope it works! and bless you, luckily I made sure I got everything done today and cleaned the house just incase it does work 🤞🏽

I think it really depends on who does it, i had 3 sweeps my final week with 3 different Midwives. The third was the only one that hurt, I had a bit of bleeding and cramping after it so I wasn’t sure if maybe she was just a bit more rough than the other 2! I still didn’t go into labour after it though 🤣

@Liyah I completely get what you mean, I’ve had a speculum and swabs taken a few times and one really hurt because she was so rough and the others were fine so I think your right saying it definitely depends who’s doing it! And ahh they are so hit and miss aren’t they. Can I ask if the sweeps didn’t work for you, did you end up being induced ect? Or just waited it out and went into labour naturally? Just thinking of my options if mine doesn’t work too

I wanted to wait as long as possible before having an induction, as I had one with my first at 41+5 and it was a terrible experience. I decided I’d wait until 42 earliest, the hospital wanted me in before then but I said no. I ended up going into labour at 4am the morning I was due to be induced at 42 weeks exactly and had the most amazing birth, totally different experience to my first 😊

@Mollie ahh congratulations!!❤️ I had mine this morning and had consistent contractions for 3 hours but now nothing 😂she’s too comfortable in there I think!

@Liyah awh I’m glad your second was a better experience. I’m hoping I go into labour naturally before I have to have one too🤞🏽 had a sweep today, and another booked for next week so fingers crossed baby makes an appearance soon
