I gave birth in early March and have already gone back to work (I am self-employed, work from home). Being a self employed sole trader sucks when it comes to maternity. People just don't get it, so for me it was really nice to see your post this morning. Protecting your work and your long term finances is crucial for your little one so if that's best done by hiring in some help and you can afford to do that, by god, do it. You need to make sure you have the time and energy to bond with your baby. That's just as important. Balancing full time motherhood and work is the hardest thing I have ever done by a long mile. Here to talk if you could do with chatting to someone who understands. X
In January?! I gave birth last August and taking a year off. Although I have started a side hustle. But you are absolutely NOT lazy. You should be off for 2 years really imo, unfortunately finances don’t allow that for many. You also don’t need to justify that you’re not lazy by doing house chores, cuz being a mum especially in these early stages - ITS HARDDDDDD
