Pros- alerts you if babies breathing changes, peace of mind Cons- doesn’t prevent SIDS but does give you a “warning” somethings wrong however there are some cases where the sock hasn’t worked. For me it gave me even more anxiety constantly watching the app so ended up selling it I guess it’s a personal preference, if you think it’s something that is going to give you peace of mind I’d invest it is worth it, if you’re someone who is already an anxious person and think it may cause more anxiety I’d do a bit more research! I think there’s a few people on TikTok if you have it that have posted reviews and opinions on it which helped my decision in buying it but in my personal situation I found myself way more anxious x

I personally love mine, I haven’t let myself get obsessive with looking at the app when he’s asleep. I only ever look if he sounds a little bit raspy just to make sure his oxygen levels are still ok! I honestly don’t think I could sleep with out it with out waking every 5 minutes to check on him. Cons though, sometimes the sock wiggles out of position so the moderate alert will go off to let you know and that honestly sends a panic

I didn't buy one as I felt it would've given me more anxiety rather than less.

I bought one do to my baby have colic and silent reflux. At night she’d cry so much and get so upset that she struggled to breathe or be do overstimulated that she’d hold her breath and become stiff like a brick. So it gave me more peace of mind. I don’t use it all the time now that she has been less colic like but the alerts were helpful

I have used it for 3 kids and I love it. I have had mine for almost 6 years and I am now getting a lot of alarms that mean the sock isn’t on properly when it is. When the sock is on fine. I think the sensor is old and I might need to buy another.

As @Caroline said, I think sometimes these items play on women’s anxiety and they’re not a cheap item .. I didn’t buy one because I was concerned it would make me worse than just your normal worrying.. but as you can see from the comments plenty of people loved it xx

We use the snuza hero, it only monitors breathing. You can pick them up very reasonably on vinted. It gives me some peace of mind, especially because you can see the light flash or have it beep every time baby takes a breath

I am very happy with buying owlet. Baby is now 1 year old and I stopped using a few weeks ago. At the begging - it gave me peace of mind as otherwise I would wake up all the time to check if he is breathing! Then I stopped using for some time and started using again when he started sleeping on his belly as I was obsessed of his breathing. I will definitely use for the next baby if I have one. Yes, it is expensive but you can sell later as they keep value. I’ve got mine in the USA as they are cheaper there.
