Over it

Is anyone else just over the picky phase..? I’m so done with him not eating the food that’s made (that he asked for), refusing pretty much everything, and throwing fits at meals. I understand it’s normal, and everyone says “they won’t starve themselves” but there are days he will literally refuse everything, his stomach will be growling and he will be so cranky because he’s hungry and refuses to eat what’s been prepared. I’ve tried having him involved in cooking/cutting/preparing meals, choosing what he eats, not giving choices and just making food.. idk what to do anymore and I’m so over it. He’s picky to the point recently that if his favorite foods LOOK different (ie applesauce not in a pouch, or a different shape of pasta) he won’t touch it. 😑 I’ve talked to my pediatrician and they say it’s just a phase and keep doing what we’re doing.. but the frustration, anxiety over what he’s eating, and stress over wasting food (which gets expensive) is overwhelming.

Have you tried deworming him? I know that sounds crazy lol but it totally worked for us!

@Briana wait wtf?? 😆

Honestly, my daughter goes through phases of "starving herself" meaning she barely eats at meal times. I don't offer snacks and keep meal times consistent. She eventually has bounce back days of eating all of her plate + seconds. I know it's hard but try not to stress. And don't let that boy boss you around about wanting his food exactly how he wants it lol just give him the food and let him decide how much to eat

THIS! You can reach out to your local children’s hospital to have them evaluated for feeding therapy.
