How did you tell people that you are pregnant?

I announced on fb when baby was born, but family and closed friends already knew xx

Not sure this is an idea more just sharing my story. My partner is a musician and he'd written a song about meeting me and how excited he was to welcome a son into the world. He then compiled videos and pictures of us, our scans and pregnancy tests into a video and we joint posted it online. I think I'd like to do a proper announcement in the future though if we have another. There's this couple @ConnorAndLiana that I follow on Youtube and they posted a video of them pegging washing up and one of the items was a jumper for her son that said “Big Brother”. I shared a picture of our scan, surrounded by pink flowers, the test, an ornament and a babygrow saying baby faizina april 2024 on social media... but since my baby was the first grandchild and granddaughter in the family we wanted our parents to announce on both sides so they did prior to us sharing the photo as well 😊

We made a compilation video of us telling our immediate and closest family set to music. It was so great. We got people to pose as if we were taking a photo....but we were filming. My partner and I had it down after a while. I'd say "Smile" when I was ready and he'd press record and shout "NATALIE'S PREGNANT." It was so raw too cause we'd been trying for over a year and been referred for fertility treatments so everyone's reaction was amazing peopled screamed, jumped and cried. It was wonderful 🥹🥰😭 x

For close friends I FaceTimed them and screen recorded it so I could get their reactions. The general public knew with a letter board and sonogram picture

With our first we posted a pic of the dog in a ‘my pawrents got me a hooman’ bandanna For our twins We did a reel zooming in on the baby on our 8week scan (which we had sent to my brother after that scan saying happy birthday I’ve started making your present as our initial due date was his birthday) then panning out to show our two babies on our 12 week scan 😂 i got quite a few f offs from friends who’d already seen our single baby 8 week scan 😂

Pic of a baby grow (will probably be his coming home outfit too) and the 12 weeks scan photo. We announced publicly at 15 weeks after I had a gender scan but our close family and friends we had told in person.

For my family: We played a game and filmed their reactions. The game was simply all of our names in a hat and on our turn, we picked up a name at random, read it and acted that person out (no speaking!). Everybody else had to guess whose name we had picked. Closer to the end of the game, we slipped in another piece of paper that read ‘we are having a baby’ and let it all unfold! For work: Left a ‘bun in the oven’ (in fact it was on the table) with cheeses, deli meats etc with an unsigned message saying something like ‘surprise bun in the oven reveal’. I just left it all out and disappeared for a little bit - asking our admin staff to send a message to everybody telling them that there was a message in the staff room for them at lunch!
