I can only get my boy to eat porridge and Yoghurt so far. He gaggs at everything else🤣
My LB is 6.5 months and I’m taking a short break as he was turning his head away etc and currently hasn’t eaten anything. The HV agreed that he didn’t seem ready yet so we’re trying again in a week or so :)
Baby is 6.5 months and showing a lot of interest when I’m eating/drinking but not much when it’s her turn. She will play with the food, closes her mouth if a try feed her but not really try to eat herself. I think she has maximum 2 spoonfuls per meal but most of the time is 0-1. We are doing a mix of purées and BLW.
The Ella chart says one meal for a baby is only 2-3 ice cubes worth, so sometimes a couple of mouth fulls and the baby is full, but they still practice from moving the food around the and playing with it, up until 1 they don’t need any nutrition , they will get that from milk, it’s all about learning different smell, textures and tastes, so even one small mouthful of something is a win! We sit her down with us at night and just give her sometime safe to play with, and she always brings it to her mouth!
we are in the same boat he just squishes everything in his hands and drops it off the high chair, ik food is more about play at this age but my friends have babys the same age and theyre eating 2 or so meals a day and have dropped bottles meanwhile we are still on 5 all babys are different, mine does love bananas mashed on toast and raspberries with greek yoghurt
