I can’t remember if they open September or October but you have until mid January to get the application in. You are not prioritised if you apply sooner so definitely visit all the schools you are interested in and spend some time weighing up your options before submitting the application. Also councils usually have useful info within their admissions info on their website about how many people have applied for each school over the last 3 years including the number who put 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice and the furthest away someone lived who got a place which can be handy. You can also phone your council to ask for your distance to each school as it is measured as the crow flies. I hope this helps

I’ve only looked at sats data and ofsted reports, but I’ve been keeping an eye on them since she was born. I haven’t been round to look at any of them yet; I’ll start that in the next academic year.

SEND schools have really long waiting lists and are over subscribed so we started looking last year! We're going to defer him a year though as at 4 he is nowhere near ready for school

@Mel s yeah I have heard about this ! Only thing is you have to have a EHCP to start looking and get her on the wating list for one I believe ? That’s what currently fighting for at the moment xx
