Going away with a weaning baby

How do you all feed your weaning babies when you’re away for a short break staying in a hotel? Restaurant food is always full of salt! Do you use pouches instead? Or what do you do? And also. How do you water them!😂 bottle water or boil the kettle on the room for cooled boiled water? For an 8 month old FYI

I just use tap water - always have since 6 months. Usually I would take some pouches but then just order off the menu a side of veggies or something like that and give him a bit of our food

Thanks for that. Tap water would be fine but not out the bathroom!🤢

We buy bottled water (like gallon ones and buy more as we go) and just pour it into his straw cup/straw bottle. For food, I try to get the closest thing to healthy, like chicken, veggies, sweet potatoes, etc. But I didn't obsess over it the one time we had a family vacation and I did the best I could

@DanielaWhat kind of bottled water?

Spring water is what we used this time with our second. With our first we were extra paranoid lol and used distilled bottled water

You shouldn’t use bottled water for babies, as it has too many minerals etc. Tap water in hotels is fine to drink, it’s not the same as bathroom water in your house. And even then that’s only bad if you have a water tank rather than a constant supply (husband was a plumber). I would order sides of veggies and just ask for them not to be salted, most restaurants are happy to cater for that. And if not the amount they eat the salt would be minimal anyway.

@Sarah bottled water can be spring water and distilled water. Depending on where she's going, there are places where the tap water isn't safe to drink or the safest to drink. So buying bottle water, especially distilled and especially specifically aimed for babies (they have a baby on the image and usually say "baby___") is definitely a good option. Also stores have "baby purified water" which has removed minerals and other things

@Daniela these just aren’t a thing in the UK. Bottled water here is spring water and therefore mineralised. Never seen ‘baby water’ either. Drinking bottled water is bougee here, everyone just drinks tap!

Ive never heard of baby water myself and I only drink glass bottled water. I don’t drink tap so wouldn’t give my kids tap either. I boil water still for my 8 month old as bottled water has to much sodium for her so interested to know what bottled water you use for your baby. I’m just thinking of boiling the bottled water for her as I couldn’t give her bathroom tap water. Boiled or not. It’s more the food I’m wondering about though😂 this seems to have turned into the “right water” I’ll ask for vege sides. Why are kids menus always just the worst crap like hotdogs and burgers and nuggets! Why do they think kids just like to eat that crap. It’s not even real food!😂
