Advice regarding changes in vision

I have high bp and am at risk of that developing into preeclampsia (33 weeks). My eyes have been fine apart from last night when struggling with my usual insomnia whilst my eyes were shut I saw 5 spots of light that flashed about 6 times. Not seen any again or since. I’ve had to put some extra focus into reading today but my eyes just feel tired due to a bad night sleep so don’t know if that’s a sign or not? Can others explain their changes in eyesight so I know what to look out for?

Ive just been discharged after being admitted initially due to a change in my vision. A few days ago, I suddenly got lots of black floating dots that had flashing edges - this lasted a few minutes then my vision completely went (everything went bright white) and out of nowhere began violently vomiting. Once I’d finished my vision returned to normal. Phoned maternity triage for advice and they told me to go in. Had placenta function bloods done and my markers are at 30 which is borderline for preeclampsia. However my first BP reading was slightly high, but when retested was within normal range so haven’t been diagnosed with PE. Also, during routine obs and CTG they noticed tightenings / contractions (30+6 hence the admission). Luckily these haven’t progressed so I’ve been allowed home to monitor symptoms. I’d recommend ringing and maybe having your bloods redone to see your marker levels and to confirm / rule out if it has developed into PE xxx

Hello, do you know what markers they’re testing exactly?

@Rosie hey, so the initial bloods they did were for liver function. These came back as raised, alongside protein in my urine. These then prompted them to take bloods for my placenta (PIGF). It basically tests the level of protein produced by the placenta. Low levels indicate preeclampsia / placental dysfunction xxx
