@Asia thanks I’ll try joining/looking on some Facebook groups first
Hello! I was a nanny for three years for a high-level executive family. From my experience, when it came time for them to switch to a part-time sitter, I found it’s best to keep your membership until you’re confident you’ve found the right fit. Babysitters can be hit or miss you never really know how the day will go or how you'll feel about them until after their time with your child. Once you feel satisfied and secure with your choice, that’s when I’d consider canceling the membership
@Alexis thanks for the heads up that is so true !
If you use care it’s an upfront free, at least when we did it. There was not monthly payment option, but a one time fee once a year (over $100). We found our sitter in 2 weeks after signing up and have been with her for 4 years (she basically family now). So, we obviously took the losses because we no longer needed the app as we had our forever sitter. One thing I wish we did was find a backup sitter because the one we have (who’s freaking amazing) works with 5 family in total. So I wish during that time we found 2-3 sitters for our family because sometimes (honestly rarely) another family has booked the sitter already. We also paid for our own full sweep background check because I don’t trust care 100% on them saying they do background checks.
@S. annalese that’s great yes now they offer u can make a month payment of 39.99 the year payment is 159.99 😬 and quarterly is 79.99
@Asia hey what was you process with selecting a nanny/babysitter in the Facebook groups. Did you use a specific website for background check?
My husband does basic background checks on backgrounds .com. Or a more in depth site is crimshield. We always get photos of their license. Front and back. We have a nanny that comes in part time on the weekdays and one that comes one day on the weekends. When we hired our weekend nanny we had her shadow the weekday nanny for a few hours to see if the job was fitting on both sides. You could call it a trial day.
Yeah I ended the membership after finding someone. I had a better response rate on a nanny Facebook group. I almost hired an agency but they wanted 12% of the nanny’s yearly income.
