Rash or eczema?

That’s so odd my son developed this a few days ago and it’s been really itchy for him. We took him to the pharmacy thinking it was eczema and they said it looks like an allergy to something but we hadn’t tried or done anything different. They just recommended a moisturiser from there to soothe it and it seems to have helped it go down a little x

We had exactly the same literally this last week, his eczema flared up but then also got this itchy rash spread too. I had switched his normal body wash so I’m putting it down to that for now and tonight gave him a porridge oat bath to soothe it and loads of double base cream. Hope they clear up soon. Worth getting the doctor to check it though in case it is a real rash xx

@Haleema that’s crazy isn’t it!! I wonder if it’s something to do with like Hayfever or pollen as it seems to have happened to a few people! I thought it was the steroid cream for the eczema as I finished it over a week ago & thought it was the drying out of that! Just seems like no creams are working tho it seems just hoping it calms down soon x

@Rachel so strange isn’t it! I purchased some baby bundle which had a soap, oil & balm which o started using as didn’t want to have to keep using a steroid so I’m not sure of that has anything to do with it but it seems like the eczema side has calmed down but now got this! Will see how it goes over the weekend as it’s bank holiday & if no improvement then will see what the doctor has to say xx

@Emily the cream we got given is called aproderm I only used it on that area on his back and just his normal moisturiser everywhere else if nothing else works and you want to give it a try x

@Haleema that’s great thank you! I have dermol & oilatum indoors at the moment so will see if any of them help as the balm I was using hasn’t seemed to help xx

Hey mama! My daughter had something similar when I switched the detergent I was using to wash our clothes. Did you make any recent changes in your soaps or what you wash with?

@Nicole hey! Nope not changed anything to do with her washing at all always used the same with her bits! Crazy how it seems it’s all of a sudden a few of us are having this come up with our little ones! X

We’ve had similar recently and eczema flare ups. I put it down to pollen for us. I’ve been using Salcura Bioskin junior rescue cream (since bought the daily spray) and it cleared her in a few days. She had shredded herself as well. I was really impressed. It’s pricey though but I suffer with eczema so it’s worth it for me x
