Do your kids eat well?

My 3.5 year old basically survives the day on pears and apple juice. He'll refuse actual meals unless it's one from his list he'll eat (which is about 10 meals). He's never hungry in the mornings and I can never get him to eat a proper lunch. Is this normal?

My daughter used to be an excellent eater and would eat whatever you gave her. Then at about 2.5 she started refusing things that she had previously loved. We purposefully ask her what she wants to eat and make that and then she still refuses it. She just wants to live off treats and snack food.

This is me. Im stressing out in feeding him and he barely eat. He is so slim as well. Im just holding on to what benefits he get from taking vitamins. Im stressing out whilst typing this cause I gave him his fave food which is bacon and he didnt eat much. Like I want him to eat something. They said this is normal but gosh, I feel like he punish himself by not eating. Its crazy

@Steph i think its a stage, isnt? I thought Im the only one. He will live only by eatng chocolates and icecream. I dont know how long this lasts. Like your daughter, mine is a very good eater as well then boom, refused everything.

Same here ladies, my girl was such a good eater but soon hit 2 then she started to become fussy eater... She only wants nuggets, fish fingers and all frozen readymade stuff... Live up on oatmeal and cereal and pasta.

Have you tried a reward chart? We've introduced it and now she's started trying different stuff again and only gets chocolate or a biscuit if she eats her meals

We’re a very mixed bag! He’ll eat some things and enough that he gets a varied diet. Eats some fruit, veggies, things like chickpeas. But he will not try anything new. Even something fun like a smoothie. Just sticks to what he knows and that’s it. Even though he likes some fruit, I really struggle to get him to eat it. He’s a big fan of wanting to think he’s growing taller. So I make a big deal about how he’s eaten and got taller when he’s eaten something healthier or with more variety

Ive noticed the more active the kid the more they eat

Same here! Very picky now and will happily not eat dinner if its not something he likes and ask for something else… were coming to plain rice, pasta, cous cous phase now. 🫠 1 by 1 things are getting cut out and defo no greens! Just gna have to make different types of pancakes

This is my son! The only “meals” he’ll eat are plain pasta with cheese on the side, plain rice, pizza and sandwiches/wraps. Give him any sort of sauce and he won’t touch it. Other that that it’s snacks, fruit and veg sticks and cereal. It used to drive me insane — I LOVE cooking and my husband and I eat well, but it’s always something else for my son despite my best efforts. But I keep telling myself that it won’t be like this forever, he’s generally happy and healthy — and plain pasta and some cucumber sticks is better than nothing at all. What blows my mind is that preschool reckon he eats well — even when it’s bloody kedgeree or something wild. Beats me.

@Georgie same! How do these kids eat so well at Nursery? I need to send him 5 days a week so he eats properly most of the week!

Same my little boy is being very picky and anything new or things that he use to like he now doesn’t like!! And it’s yuuuccck!! Really hope it’s just a phase xx
