I think naturally if you get top up from UC your income won’t be considered as enough and lenders would say it’s unaffordable? I may be wrong but again depends where you are in the UK and what you’re applying for xx
@Aimee true, but it’s enough to rent me a place which is more than what I would have paid for the rent with shared ownership.
It a tough one because, you would be assessed under the current circumstances and most likely be seen a liability to lenders or brokers, as financially you are not secure. This is also the same thing with 0 hour contracts and temporary or secondment contracts. It sucks because u are correct it be cheaper and financially you would be better off doing what you’re planning.
