Home birth

Has anyone managed to have a home birth under Croydon hospital? The service seems on and off all the time…last time I saw my midwife she said it wasn’t running again but at my previous app she said it was! Would love to have a home birth but it seems very hit and miss. Any experience would be appreciated please, thanks

Hey ! I had mine baby was born 3/04 at home with Croydon hospital it was crazy journey. I could tell you more in private message or through text voice notes because it’s a long story. I had to fight to get it. Having a home birth was amazing though !

Me, but they recommended to get in contact with East Surrey, who agreed to come out if Croydon's HB service was suspended when I went into labour, which it was! So technically I was under the Croydon team, but a midwife from East Surrey came out to see me for the actual birth

@Emma 🌱 I contacted east Surrey for my home birth in March and they said they couldn’t take me but it could depend on your address

I’d be interested to know as well. I put it down as my preference when I first self referred and it’s never been brought up since then. Going to ask at my 28 week appointment in a few weeks.

@Rachel hi I’ll message you as soon as I can . Definitely bring it up at your next appointments and keep pushing to say that’s the birth you want. If you don’t hear anything back raise it with PALS Croydon
