@Angelina Tiburcio thank you for this, it’s such a worrying time for us isn’t it. I didn’t have this with my oldest this is why I’m questioning it. Do you know what other factors he would have if any if he was to have it?? Xx
Maybe he needs more sensory activities. Edible sensory trays like a sand box or flower bed/garden, or edible play doh or slime might help
When I was working in behavioral therapy for kiddos, it was usually seen with disabilities and behavioral issues such as non verbal, hyperactivity and spectrum signs too. It’s also be a lack of iron, my baby girl ended up being low in iron and now she takes supplements for it :)!
You can always ask to have his iron tested! I did with my toddler because she always wanted to be eating ice. Totally fine she just likes ice 😂
I didn't have this with my eldest ..... however my middle child was prem at 24wks and i can honestly say he won't eat a cake but he would eat a rock if it was given to him 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ He eats chunks of wood from his cot snd he's even taken chubks from his mattress...... We do believe he's on the spectrum so just having our referrals now 😭
Honestly I was worried too about my baby girl but I also realized I should take into account how her behavior is too! There’s many other factors usually associated with pica
