Falling on belly

Hi, I’m 33 weeks pregnant, I slipped on my birthing ball earlier today from standing, I landed on my belly/bump and bounced onto the floor. I spoke with my midwife on the phone and they advised that along as I have no pain, no bleeding or leaking and baby is moving I don’t need to be checked and should all be fine. I’m just a bit worried and wondered if anyone had fallen before and had similar advice? Thank you in advance x

If you’re worried go in to ease your mind xxx

if I were u I'd call the doctor and just ask to do a checkup. Like call them and tell them what happened and you don't have any of that but you want a ultrasound and sound just to ease yourself and they should. If insurance covers it than take advantage of it.

@krystal this is a UK group and the vast majority of UK health insurance doesn’t cover maternity care - also most people don’t have health insurance as we have a national health service

I had a fall a couple weeks back, fell off the pavement on top of my handbag cushioned my bump luckily, I had some PGP pains after which worried me and she shifted her position so her movements felt off, I went and got checked and all was okay, if you need to put your mind at ease give them a ring x

I tripped down the stairs and fell onto my belly at a tube station. I rang the triage line and they said the same thing about pain/bleeding/leaking. They said if I was worried I could come in. I did as was quite panicked and everything was fine. There are lots of layers of padding with belly fat, ab muscles and the amniotic fluid, which protect the baby. If you’re worried, good to go in

The baby is generally well protected by your uterus and the amniotic fluid, so most minor falls do not cause harm. If in doubt call your midwife xx Hope you all is ok x
