Drinking water

Hey everyone, I’m struggling to get my little one to drink water properly. We’ve started on an open cup at 6 months and more recently also introduced a straw. He’s able to get water into his mouth but I feel he then spits most of it (if not all sometimes). He doesn’t seem dehydrated but I wonder if he should be having heavier wet nappies… does anyone have any tips or is going through the same?

Hey! We had the same challenge, tried a few different bottles plus the open cup - he’s only started being more interested in the last week or so when we tried a third type of sippy cup and have also started the transition to cows milk so ??thirstier / more interested in solids and water 🤔 The other tip I have is keep drinking water in front of him and maybe even share your bottle if he’s interested in that 🫣

Remember as long as they’re hydrated with the good wet nappies they’re getting enough :) we’re always too hard on ourselves !!

I've found he won't really drink at all at meal times or when I hand him the cup but if I just leave the cup about and he finds it he happily sips away. Our stubborn boy is too independent 🤣

@Flo 😂😂😂

We tried 8 different cups before we found one my boy didn't do this with. He drinks really well with the phillips avent sippy cups
