Well, We are Catholics and we as a family celebrate Easter with activities at church and Easter eggs are just a fun tradition for us, something fun for the kids to distract themselves after so much activity at church. My daughter saw the Easter bunny at a mall event and got scared hehe, she doesn't relate Easter with the bunny.
We do Easter baskets every year from the easter bunny
We just do activities we don’t do easter bunny
We do Easter with baskets and eggs
We do baskets, but don't pretend they're from The Bunny. It's more of a mascot that they see at events I guess. We did an egg hunt for the kids and their cousins at our house yesterday because it's supposed to be rainy and chilly the rest of the weekend, they probably saw us filling the eggs lol
We do Easter baskets (we’ve never emphasized the Easter bunny, just baskets from us basically), and an Easter egg hunt on Saturday and then focus on the spiritual stuff on Sunday. It’s a nice balance between the fun family activities and the meaning behind it all.
we do, but i make it functional. a juice, a snack, coloring books if they’re running low or out, raincoat, rain boots, umbrella if needed, swimsuits, and beach toys if needed. for eggs- some low value cash, bath bombs, snacks, etc. no junk toys
also, as i do with santa, once they find out they aren’t real, i emphasize on how we don’t have to take credit for kind things we do for people and that we can do things for others without expecting anything in return.
My kids have always known that we give them Easter baskets. It’s just the way I was raised. I also didn’t want questions when they saw prepackaged baskets at a grocery store or something. The Easter bunny drops by and brings eggs but we never see the bunny.
we do baskets from the easter bunny but my 4 yr old thinks it's an actual bunny sending her gifts lol. she knows the easter bunny at the mall is a guy in a costume
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTjY9yapu/ My family did this and had sooo much fun! We will definetly make this our Easter tradition. It’s a great way to cut out the Easter bunny entirely and focus on Jesus / the true meaning of Easter. It’s a win-win-WIN situation!
We are Christians, so we celebrate Jesus. They get some candy and egg hunt for fun, but we try to focus on the actual holiday. Santa and the Easter bunny are both characters to help people celebrate the season. We have never lied to our kids about it (but do discuss that different families handle this differently). The tooth fairy “exists” for like 2 teeth and then they figure it out.
We do the Easter Bunny, but I compare the baskets to the tomb and on Good Friday we put rocks in the basket symbolizing our sins, and then when the Easter Bunny comes the rocks are gone and it's been replaced by the goodies and the gifts. I then explain that what Jesus does is take our sins and gives us back something better.
The Easter Bunny and eggs actually aren't of pagan origin. There's not much historical record on Eostre/Ostara or any related celebrations. While they may be symbols of fertility and spring in various cultures, the Easter associations actually did originate with the church. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DITzqm_gvhe/?igsh=bGZhZ3A5NzI5NW9r

The Easter baskets are from me, not the Easter bunny. Same way I don’t do Santa gifts at Christmas.
I still do it mostly because of the previous foster family did it. I'm not trying to crush dreams. As long as you believe Santa, Easter bunny, tooth fairy, etc . Will come As soon as you tell me they don't exist you get nothing from them 😅😅
I’ve been doing the Easter bunny for 7 years and doing it again with my second . I’d feel bad taking that away from them since my oldest already believes in him .
