Black marks on tongue

I’ve noticed my baby has black on his tongue, I used a muzzy and cool boiled water to get it off earlier and I thought it was fluff however looking back on a few photos it’s seems to have been there for a few days possibly a week? Should I be worried and take him to see a doctor? I’ll post pics in comments

@Kas this is what I thought! He’s constantly got his hand in his mouth and sometimes sucks on the sleeves of his clothes, or have I picked up his dummy and put it back in whilst we are sleeping and it’s had something in it! I think I feel guilty because it looks as though it’s been there for ages

Could it potentially be oral thrush?

@Jess if it’s thrush would that mean my nipples would have it as well? Xx

I don’t think oral thrush causes a black tounge.. im sure it also requires tablets to get rid of it. However if you’ve removed this and it hasn’t come back I wouldn’t worry! We all do feels we feel guilty for but sometimes being a mum is draining and difficult, especially at nighttime we all just want an easy ride! Don’t feel guilty. He isn’t hurt and clearly isn’t in distress xx

Luckily a very happy boy! I’ll keep an eye on it 🩷
