What do i do?!

Baby is 7 months and still not sitting on her own. Shes still a little bobbly with her head as its just a bit bigger than normal. How do i get her to sit? Shes on tummy time and rolling over both ways lifting her head. Shes still is starting to bring her knees up like she wants to crawl but still cannot sit.

It’s completely normal. Every baby goes at their own pace. My daughter is also 7 months and sits on her own for a few seconds

Its just worrying me bc she was born a month early and her bobble head and not sitting makes me think im doing something wrong

Want baby isn’t the best at sitting by herself she is 8 months today but she’s trying hard. Just pick her back up and try again she’ll get it

Exactly, every baby is different. I usually put my LO sitting between my legs or put a boppy pillow behind her to help her balance while she strengthens her muscles. She’ll get there before you know it!

Just want to add, my LO was about a month early as well and she was able to sit better than roll initially, if that makes you feel better to know. They’ll both get there. :) unless she’s like 2-3 months behind, I’ve read you shouldn’t panic

Typically they don’t sit up on their own until 9-11 months

If she was born early you base her developmental assessment off of her adjusted gestational age (according to the cdc). So you should do the milestones of a 6months old instead. But don’t be too worried my son is 8 months born early and only sits up unassisted for a couple of seconds because he likes to throw his body down.

It’s completely normal, my first daughter was super advanced. I have twins now and they will be 7 months on the 30th and still aren’t sitting up on their own. I started freaking out because again my first born was advanced so I didn’t know any different. Their doctor told me it was normal and just to ease my mind she referred them to babynet (idk if yall have it where you are) but basically it’s specialists who help with whatever the baby or toddlers need!

My baby was also born a month early and that means it’s likely for them to be behind a month which is totally okay! My baby was but he’s two now and you wouldn’t know he was born a month early. His development was definitely delayed but not speech or anything.

I think I remember putting mine in sitting position and then holding toys higher up so he looked up instead of down and falling forward

I use watch this YouTube video that basically says u can put the baby to sit between ur legs and support and once she is learning u can go down to supporting her waist. I also use to help my daughter learn how to tripod sit by showing her how to place her hand down to support her

I started to walk at 9 months but couldn’t sit until 10 months. I was also born almost a month early. Give your baby (and yourself) time. You’re doing great and your baby will reach all of her milestones when she is ready.
