Baby not picking up finger food?
My little boy is 6-month today and his paediatrician said he could start solids when he's 5 months due to eczema. He takes puree/ mash on a spoon with no issue. However I tried offering his sweet potato strips today and he just kept hitting the plate and unable to how it at all. Has this happened with anyone's baby? Does it get better if I keep offering him finger food daily?

Yeah he just needs to practice
They're not going to pick it up on the first day. There are 1 year olds who throw more food than they pick up. Weaning is a process. Be patient and keep offering food. Expect waste. Expect mess. Expect disinterest, rejection, and fussing. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

It’s just to get them used to picking up and textures etc mines is 7 months and doesn’t put up to his mouth think he’s maybe done twice then throws away xx
