1st- easy pregnancy, hard birth (complications), easy baby. 2nd- harder pregnancy, easier birth, harder baby. the pregnancy being harder was probably down to being older and having a 3 year old as well. my sept 24 baby is definitely more hard work than my first but i finally got the birth experience i wanted but didn't get with my first!
@Stacie What birth experiences did you have?
Both my labours were extremely fast and both my babies were difficult. The osteopath said they were both born ‘wired’ due to their fast arrival. September baby is definitely a happier baby but still quite difficult
with my first i woke up bleeding at 12am, got to the hospital at 12:30am to find out i was in labour, 4cm and my waters were gone (no idea where or when!) and i was bleeding too much for a water birth. baby was born 4 hours after getting to the hospital, so quick but his heart rate was dropping at the end so needed an episiotomy to get him out. quick and intense but was literally the worst case scenario labour for me back then- on my back in a bed and episiotomy. with my second i started having irregular contractions that got regular midday. rang midwife in the evening and went to the MLU for a water birth and got there at 8:20pm, just me, my partner, one midwife and another member of staff in the whole unit. filled the pool, got in, not long after i needed to push, less than 10 minutes later my waters burst quickly followed by baby at 9:27pm. i got my intimate water birth, i got to experience my waters breaking. even got the delayed clamping and partner cutting the cord which we didn't get with the first!
