Planned C section + Low Papp A

Hey, so the doctor has told me that baby needs to come out at 39 weeks due to my Low Papp. However, hospital called me this morning saying they will do my C section 39+5 and if my water breaks they will do an emergency one. Anyone have any experience they were rude on the phone saying “you need to stop being anxious” as I’ve kept going on and off about what the doctors has told me. I am scared as my placenta will not functioning right after 39 weeks.

What is Low Papp??

I’m having a scheduled c section as I’ve had one before and do not wanna travel out of town to get a VBAC done bc my hospital does not do them and I am having my daughter at 39 weeks that is considered full term I am unsure of what a low papp is tho

i had low papp-a and they didn’t make a big deal out of having the baby earlier? i actually got to 41+1! have they told you in previous scans that your placenta isn’t functioning well?

Hi, i also had a really bad experience with this kind of situation, and felt very unheard, not listened to, like my feelings didn't matter, I'm sorry your also going through something similar, my hospital wanted my baby out early however after 3 induction attempts which couldn't go ahead and 2 failed c sections I'd had enough, it was too traumatic and I chose to see what happened with natural labour, I went into labour on my own at nearly 42 weeks, through out the time my hospital kept a close check on my placenta and if it was still working which it was, I know not everyone's situation is different and risks are different and such but I now think I should of chosen what I thought was right for me and my baby all along instead of being put through what I was put through

I am having placenta praevia( 21 weeks already) and have the 4 time when I bleed since I got peegnant and they say( here in Germany) they will wait until 24 weeks to se is is goes up,

@mariana they did say baby wasn’t getting any massive weight so that’s why he had to come at exactly 39 weeks or before!

@Rachel omg, I can’t imagine what you’ve been through. I can’t have a vaginal birth due to baby being breech as well. I’m literally trapped with a C-Section!

@Julia thank you, and im sorry your in that situation, I ended up having to have a c section anyway, even though I was in labour, you can ask to be monitored and ask if it would be okay to have the c section later on unless there is risks to the baby, I chose to keep my pregnancy going because I felt the decisions forced on me weren't right, but with your case it's different, however they should be understanding of your concerns and worries over it and should be more supportive, you can message me if you like

I had low papp-a with my son and was on asprin throughout my pregnancy. He was delivered via csection at 38 weeks. They told me he was going to be small but he came put at 7lb13. Only reason he was delivered at 38 was because of other medical issues. I was told that they would have done the csection at 39 weeks otherwise.

@Danielle the only reason they don’t schedule it earlier it’s because there’s no space. My baby is currently 5lb2

I had low pappa-a with my daughter and got to 40+3 before my induction which then led to a section. Baby was absolutely fine 7lb8 xx

@Melissa my baby isn’t getting enough weight, that’s why the earliest it’s the best x
