Atopic Ezcema

Had anyone experienced this on their little one skin. It’s been a constant battle for 6 months, saw a dermatologist who said it was ‘atopic ezcema’. I have tried so many creams, steroids etc you name it. It’s so bad and it can get really inflamed, my little one also does not stop scratching it all day and especially at night. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I’m struggling!

Coming from someone who worked in dermatology for a few years, I would definitely get a second opinion. In my experience, eczema is a lot more scaly than that. If topical steroids and bleach baths don’t do anything, then I’m a little doubtful it’s eczema, although sometimes it does take more invasive treatments to see results (like biological injections such as dupixent)

This is what I was also thinking! Is it worth me going back to the GP? I’m loosing my mind looking at him scratch like that. He also has it all over his front and shoulders as patches. X

Are you breastfeeding or formula? My boy has severe eczema and we’ve had to cut a few things to help him! Other things that have helped are: separating pets, an air purifier, 100% cotton clothes and sheets, no perfume or reed diffusers, short shower rinses rather than baths, an emollient he gets on with and a stronger steroid to get on top of it. I hope you find some relief soon, eczema is such a tough battle. Scratch sleeves with the silk ends help massively for sleep.
