Need support from other mamas

I’m 35 weeks + 1 day. This is my second pregnancy. My son (now 17mo) was born after i developed gestational hypertension at 37 weeks and a failed induction which lasted 48 hours until i decided to do a c section instead. I was preparing for VBAC (which could theoretically happen still), but I went to my OB for ultrasound today and she warned me about my predisposition and the fact that my BP was high at this appointment and my urine test came back with high protein (can be sign of preeclampsia), I’m supposed to take my BP 2x per day at home now til my next appointment….if it goes over 140/80 I have to call Labor and Delivery at which point I’ll be asked to come in. My BP 20 min ago was 139/82. I thought i was more ready for this possibility to happen again but I’m more scared than i think I’m letting on. Looking for positivity and love from other mamas while I’m navigating this stressful and scary time.

Hi! I had a failed induction with my first (water broke and labor wasn't going anywhere after 48 hours). We did a planned C-section at 39 weeks this time and it was night and day from my first. So if you know it's coming and it's planned in the hospital, know that it's still major and still hard. But you can prepare better and recovery is easier. Instead of laboring for 2 days and then having a C-section. Oof. That is no joke. Exhaustion on top of exhaustion. That being said, I really hope your numbers stay where they should.

Do you have anyone there who can hold your hand and look into your eyes while you have a glass of ice water? It's ok to wake your husband up if he's sleeping. You're stressed and need human connection. ❤️ (He would much rather have baby safe than get the little extra sleep anyway😉) After that, put on a meditation app and imagine yourself falling asleep inside a cloud.... imagine yourself as a protective bubble that l that's keeping your baby safe from the outside world. Take your bp again after you've had a chance to relax so you aren't worried about it all night. Consider getting extra help with childcare for the next few weeks.... you can do this, you just need to be intentional... 🙂

I had pre-eclampsia with failed induction and emergency c-section at 34 weeks my son was only on oxygen less than 24 hours and never needed a feeding tube. He was sent home from the NICU in 5 days. He's now 3 years old and healthy. It was scary but everything was fine in the end. Take care of yourself, go for a light walk, drink water, and call your doctor if your numbers exceed what they say
