Probably the day I took my test, if you want to buy things you go buy things. Don’t be put off by what ifs 🩷

We bought our travel system and nursery furniture at 14 weeks. Much earlier than I thought, but I knew if we lost the baby I’d be devastated with or without the orders.

I think buy stuff whenever you like. Because we didn’t find out the gender we only bought basic before she was born and I’ve had so much fun buying clothes now as there’s new stuff out all the time. You deffo don’t have to buy everything before they’re born, you can always order on Amazon after which we did when we figured out more what worked for us! So you can always ask for gift cards if people want to get you things!

That's really helpful, I'm not usually a superstitious person. But I have gone back and forth on when to start buying. It helps to hear others experiences😊

8 weeks we bought our next to me crib as it was on offer and a good bargain. I think it’s fine to buy early. If the worst were to happen you’d be gutted either way. I personally think you only regret the things you didn’t do tbh

My first I didn't buy anything until after my shower. My second I bought two shirts on clearance after my anatomy

I would also say it’s hard to always know how big your baby is gonna be, I think I didn’t always get the right size for the season that’s why mainly basics was easier for me before they’re born anyway!

I've got one outfit i bought last year claiming it was for a friend. Then admitted to my husband, it's for our future baby. We weren't even TTC🤣. And I got a baby bath off vinted..can't pass on a bargain. I know we'll get the big stuff, but i don't want to double up too much on small stuff if our friends/family are generous. @Madeleine, if baby has a nursery in time, I'll be surprised so definitely think amazon will be our best friend🤣

I bought an onesie when I was 5 weeks pregnant because I couldn't resist. Now I am waiting until my 20 week scan to start buying more things as I want to find out the gender first

Started buying stuff the day I found out, I bought some bits to go in a box to tell my partner he was going to be a daddy and haven’t stopped since 🤣

I must be crazy… because I had the nursery painted and clothes in the closet before I even got pregnant 😂😂😂 then soon as I tested positive Amazon prime day was soon after so we bought some of the big stuff while it was on sale like a crib, swing/bouncer, and a dresser.

I started buying bits and bobs about 1 week after finding out! Told everyone straight away too. Just go with how your feeling and what you want to do 👍

I bought a few onesies that could be worn by a boy or girl child, and a pair of shoes for each gender. This was soon as we started to try around August/September 2024 as I was using the items to pray for conception. I’ve put a few basics in my cart since I tested positive but will wait to get gender confirmation before buying more clothes.

@Madelyn you are soo organised! We'll be lucky to have a nursery. Every room upstairs needs redoing. We've only just got the main room plastered. My partner is a bit demotivated when he's not got help, I've been too unwell to and not sure what I should/shouldn't risk. So the likelihood of us even having a nursey by November is low. We don't have the money to get trades in so DIY it. But it takes time...I've warned him the nesting period will be an all new level of hell for him if things haven't progressed🥲😅

@Amy we had a lot of time to prepare and get our house together, but also the nursery was done so early because we were experiencing infertility, and I was desperate to get pregnant😂😂😂 I had so much stuff it was borderline unhealthy

@Amy we were exactly the same! I told my partner I was pregnant and he went ahead and knocked the chimney breast down in our living room 🤣 I was panicking I’d not be able to get the nursery done before he/she arrives but we’ve just finished it this weekend! You’ll get there!

Im not superstitious but I miscarried on the day I bought something for baby. So with my second pregnancy I waited until the 20 week anatomy scan.

I was on amazon buying stuff 2 days after my positive test lol

12 weeks for me

12 weeks we bought an outfit but nothing else until 20+ I was paranoid I’d jinx it 🤦🏼‍♀️xxx

@Maddie omg!🤣. My husbands all just like ate you being realistic. I said yes if you didn't prioritise car stuff😂. He's got a race in sept he's been working on his car since last September. I've not said don't or stop. But it takes up his time and focus..and I'm not sure he realises how much I can't help. The house is so overwhelmingly cluttered, so it definitely needs to be prioritised asap. I struggle to help not only because of pregnancy but after one assignment that's in tomorrow. I then have to catch up on my dissertation so I can finish my course and qualify😂. It's a lot🤭

@Amy Christ that sounds full on!! Remember little on won’t be in with you for the first 6 months aswell but I understand the want to get it done before hand cause I absolutely will not be doing DIY when baby is here 🤣 that’s a lot to do but it’ll all come together! Hopefully once his race is out the way it’ll be all go go go with baby stuff 😬

After my 12 week scan for us! It’s totally personal. Whenever you want 🥰
