Whether you like Trump or not You can't say this wasn't a F***ing WIN ‼️🙏🏾🗣

Regardless who you voted for or what you believe in Petroleum Based Dyes are banned in most other countries (where they substitute with natural dyes like beet root, carrot juice, turmeric, ectect)for being Cancerous, causing neurological disorders in children and adults, and a boat lod of other problems. It is also most banned her in skin care and make up for the same problems of being toxic YET it is in almost everything we eat from Junk food, to your Corn on the cob, to your Chicken broth. Mothers have been asking and fighting for years to get these toxins out of our food to make it safe for our kids and FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY STEP ARE BEING MADE 💯💯💯💯 So can we all, regardless of political stance or alliance, Celebrate a big Win together for our kids Foods being 1 step closer to being held at A healthier standard 🥹👏🏾👏🏾

Respectfully, Biden initiated this ban but yes definitely a win and respect that it is something both sides want. The US has been backwards with this

@Melanie I know he was moving to have red dye 3 removed by 2028, was he trying with others as well and just didn’t get the chance to finish?

Maybe he’s suddenly realised why Europe doesn’t want his chlorinated chickens.

Def wasn't Trumps doing. We're in April. Plus it'll be such a long time before we actually see this implemented.

I’m so on the fence because it’s such a good step for our health but I’m going to have to spend a lot of money I don’t have to replace the food colouring for my baking small business

@Monét For 50+ years no other administration has done it even if it wasn't him specifically RFK jr played a HUGE part in making this happen this fast Also the ban began Yesterday and company's have until the end of 2026 to get it done (instead of the previous proposed 2028 which was a good step but felt to far away to be happy about especially when it only hit on 3 of a whole bunch of bad stuff in our food) We can start seeing changes extremely soon But regardless if it was him or not or if we see the changes today or in a couple months can we agree that this is a win for the long run 🥺

@Tessa there are natural Dyes for baking and the ones being replaced shouldn't go up in price they just have to switch the ingredients (which is barely anything more in cost for those making it not to mention they already sell every other countries foods and Dyes this way)

@Jasmine the natural dye options we currently have available are significantly more expensive, from the coloring itself to medications using it. I buy them anyway but hopefully you are right and the fake stuff being banned will help this price discrepancy

@Jasmine do you have a source that says it will not cost more? Pretty sure that’s incorrect.

@Brittany no sorry i don't have any sources its just wat I had heard about the production. I could very well be wrong. I hope I'm not im hope wat I heard is right and it doesn't get more expensive but I'm still happy it'll be safer for consumption tho

@Ciara I looked it up and yeah it's definitely more expensive I wonder if that's from it being a "healthier alternative" tho. Hopefully now that everything on the shelves will be that way they can't just price up healthier things just for more profits 😅

@Jasmine I’m only comfortable using one brand because I know how they work (what I make has to be done perfectly or it can be ruined) one bottle of their natural dye can go as high as $99. It’s definitely no small price lol

@Tessa ya. I mean this can be great. But prices will definitely go up, and we’ll see what happens when it actually gets implemented I guess.

I really do not like Trump but this was something I was actually happy about! I get natural dyes cost more but. 1. Prices of natural dyes will probably go down 2. The dye doesn’t add flavor just appearance

@Tessa dang I'm sorry it cost so much I was wrong I thought it didn't cost too much more but I guess that doesn't apply to the big bottles and buying bulk I didn't think about those. I hope your business still flourishes. But I am happy what you make won't have Cancerous additives anymore too. Your stuff probably is beautiful and taste great it I hope I stays looking beautiful even with the change of pricing

@Maddy 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thanks for celebrating this win 🏆 🙌🏾 I hope it keeps going 😅

@Ciara there is an entire list of things that were in the works

I work for two bakeries and we use red beet dye for our red color at one, artificial red for the other. To put it into perspective, artificial is $4.73/lb, red beet color is $175.5/lb. HOWEVER, I still think it's a good thing

Well I’d be celebrating except there is no ban🥴 unless I missed something in which case I stand corrected but it seems like it’s just performative bs right now, there’s no fda regulation or anything out of projected to come out all rfk said was he had a meeting and the industry voluntarily agreed. So I guess I’m just confused that the same MAHA crowd that calls these big food corps corrupt is now just happy putting their trust in their word

It’s giving “I have concepts of a plan” 😭

@Autumn the FDA released this yesterday https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/hhs-fda-phase-out-petroleum-based-synthetic-dyes-nations-food-supply

@Melanie thank you!! Haven’t seen that yet, but still kinda feel the same cuz the wording is so gray.. like “establishing a national standard” and “initiating the process to revoke” and “working with the industry to xyz” idk it’s just giving a whole lot of nothing in my opinion 😂 no actual standard laid out no actual initiation other than an announcement to initiate but they’re acting as if a full ban is in effect. Any step in the direction of better quality food will be a win though! I just don’t like premature celebrating because it feels like a distraction or them just throwing us a dry bone to appease

@Autumn yeah my quality manager sent this to us and after I sent it to you I read it again and was thinking it is a smidge vague 🤔 same! we'll see what pans out
