For our daughter we use a light curl oil or a curl custard that just adds some moisture but nothing too heavy. Simply hair styles are good and as they get older / more tolerant you can braid it or take them to a salon and get their hair done. Often those styles can last weeks and takes the pressure off doing their hair everyday but is still protective
Straight hair that doesn't keep any light curl. My son is mass of curls and his aunt braided his hair once and I regret taking it out after a week. I also haven't been able to braid my hair since I married and then lost my mom in 22. Cut my hair between 22 and 23 and been debating on watching how to braid tutorials for myself. My main problem is that my son won't sit still for even a quick clean comb out let alone let me try and braid his hair. I don't know how my sil did it with my husband and I holding him.
