ADHD

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid and took medicine until I was probably 12-13 and recently I've been thinking of getting back on medication for it. I'm not hyper like I was as a kid but now I'm unmotivated and forgetful I can't seem to get anything done and I'm tired of living like this but I'm not sure if getting back on medication will help or what I should do. As anyone else got back on ADHD medicine as an adult?

I did it and also did functional therapy for my adhd. I've now been off the meds since my first pregnancy, and I'll probably get back on them when I'm done breastfeeding for the 2nd baby. It just makes life a little easier

I’m on ADHD meds and I couldn’t be a good mom without them. It’s so difficult to get out of bed in the morning without them and it’s hard to get stuff done around the house (laundry, dishes) or take proper care of my son (give baths regularly, brush teeth, prepare meals) without them. I say give it a shot.

I did a few months ago and I’m SO glad I did! I have to remind myself that it’s a tool, not a cure.

I still have a lot of work to do so I go to a therapist who specializes in ADHD/executive functioning weekly to help find strategies but I wouldn’t be able to even try the strategies without the extra support from meds

Absolutely do it. As soon as I can and am done having kids I will. It's worth it if it helps you function and keep you happy and healthy :)
