Make sure that when you get an invoice from your childcare provider that you only pay 80% of it to your tax free account then you will automatically be topped up 20%. I made the mistake of paying the full price the first time!

@Fate it’s pretty quick. Usually takes a couple of hours for all the funds to clear in the childcare account and then you can set up the payment to your childcare provider once it has
@Fate you need to transfer funds from your bank account, which takes about 24 hours to show in your taxfree account and then the top up showed instantly for me. 👍🏾

You set up an account, then transfer money into it, the government tops it up, then you pay the childcare provider from that account. You have to reconfirm every few months (but takes a few seconds). You can do this calculator https://taxfreechildcarecalculator.com to see how much you might get based on how much you pay to your provider. For every £8 you pay in the government tops up an extra £2 (so basically 20%) .
