What do you do to get out of a reading slump?

After devouring CJ Archers Glass and Steele 13 book series, I haven’t been able to get into the next 6-book series set in the same world…. I think i meed a break from fantasy mystery period drama genre… any recommendations? I tried some of the 100 partially read books i have but just keep going back to the Parenting hell podcast… and thats not great for bed time listening. I am in the mood for relaxed books with a really good narrator (as i only listen to audiobooks) like Travelling cat chronicles or Pico Iyers previous book. Anyone know of anything with a similar feel? I tried days at the morisaki bookshop and a few other Japanese cat books but couldn’t get into it. Maybe need to try The goodby cat again… I really want to read ‘Eve’ but im not ready for so much graphic detail about vaginas after giving birth just 4 months ago 😂

I try and read something different but 9 times out of 10 I just take a break from reading for a while to break that slump

I go for a completely different genre or go for rubbish crime thrillers while I hunt out my next good series. If you want something that has multiple books and are really well written… I can recommend Red Rising by Pierce Brown. The lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper The name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss Or just some really good books I’ve read in general… A poisoners tale by Cathryn Kemp The girl with the louding voice by Abi Daré The witches of Vardo by Anya Bergman Dominicana by Angie Cruz The Ophelia girls by Jane healey Hamnet by Maggie Ofarrell The dictionary of lost words by Pip Williams I could go on and on 😂

I read something that I’ve read before and enjoyed - usually something light and easy. It reminds me that it’s a thing I enjoy, then I’m excited to find something new. I also keep a wish list of titles I see and want to read
