you’ll most likely get a one bed flat if your baby is under 1 currently if they’re over one and your pregnant you might be eligible for 2 but this will most likely be temporary accommodation for your permanent you’d be entitled to 2-3 bed
It’s not as simple as just applying for a council house. You have to join the register, be given a band and then bid each week. If you are offered a 1 bedroom home with 2 children - they will encourage you to turn the living room space into another bedroom. You have to also meet certain requirements to be accepted on to the register like living in the borough for a certain amount of time etc. Also bear in mind you will be joining the back of an already oversubscribed queue. Social housing is scarce and the lists are spiralling.
