Climbing out cot😣

So my little girl has figured out how to climb out of her cot (as of almost 4 hours ago). We’ve put a baby gate at her door, and also removed the sides of her cot, as everytime we left her she’d just climb out of it, and fall. The last few hours have consisted of nothing but screaming crying. This is a massive shock to the system as she’s normally in bed by 7.30 every night, she’s also just fallen out the bed again, (the sides now down). Has anyone else gone through this stage yet and have any recommendations for anything that might make this transition a bit easier for her and for us? Do we just get a floor bed, bed guard?

My friend who works in a nursery has also just said she might be a bit to young to have the sides down, but I figured the sides being down would be better than her climbing over the railings and falling from a bigger height each time?

Sorry just following cos I think we are going to hit this soon - I guess I’d do floor bed and baby gate?

@Fay yeah I’m looking now, even with the side of her cot off, it’s still quite a fall and I want her to hurt herself. I just wasn’t prepared for it at all, completely blindsided me🤣🤣🤣

I’ve seen a few posts the past few days about the same problem so now I’m fretting! X

@Fay prepare as much as you can, didn’t expect to be at this time with her watching in the night garden! Think I’m going to buy a bed guard as a temporary measure, and see what bed we can fit in her room, I’m just praying tonight is a one off😭

Do a floor bed.

@Fay it’s taken 5 hours but she’s asleep, we ended up putting her mattress on the floor as she kept falling out! Me and partner have also been in there for the last half hour🤣🤣🤣
