Alcohol?

So I’m not a heavy drinker.. but my brother was in town who we always drink, go bar hopping, and have fun together… I had been depressed around the time too so you know , I drunk I’d say 8 oz of tequila that night (even though every cup I made it a mixed drink with juice, which probably changes nothing).. needless to say hours later I felt like sh**, I was so so so dizzy and threw up 3-4 times that night.. and then forced myself to sleep, only to wake up and throw up 3-4 more times that morning. I then called the ambulance because my brother said “there’s no way your supposed to throw up that much” while I’m thinking I may have alcohol poisoning or something, a little while later I found out I was pregnant. I had to be like 5-6 weeks at the time. I am 14 weeks now and baby seems to be fine..but I still wonder, you know? Like what have I done. Has anyone else accidentally drunk, and baby had any issues after birth? Or growing up? I just still feel so guilty…

I drank almost an entire bottle of vodka the day before I found out I was pregnant with My son. He’s completely fine! Don’t worry and don’t feel guilty !

It happened to me too. I look at it like this: what's meant to be is coming no matter what, baby is probably just fine- of baby is not perfect, then that's what was meant for you and it's for a reason

In the like two weeks following my firsts daughters conception, I was eating a edible at least once a day, taking Xanax that was prescribed to me, and drinking not heavily but still some. She is 18 months now and she is perfect and very very intelligent. No issues whatsoever. I obviously stopped everything as soon as I knew which was like 3 1/2 weeks because I tested early

I can almost guarantee you that you and your baby will be fine. I didn’t find out I was pregnant until I was almost 6 months and guess what? 🥲 I went out all the time and drank a lot too. I was so afraid at the doctor when I had my first ultrasound. Doctors had assured me that my baby was healthy and fine, even after I told them about my history drinking before finding out I was pregnant. My son turns 3 in two weeks. and somehow he is in great health. Someone out in the universe picked him and protected him while I was pregnant.

I was 5 weeks pregnant but didn’t know and every weekend id drink a slab of beer and have vodka between me and baby daddy ! My daughter is currently 4 months old and is healthy 🥰

If you read “Expecting Better” by Emily Oster she will have a whole chapter on drinking alcohol before knowing your pregnant and it will put your mind at ease. You can probably find a copy at your library or ask for it for the holidays. :)

I drank and smoked in the 1st 2 to 3 weeks of pregnancy. I got hammered the day before I took my test actually. I was suspecting, but not ready to face reality. I stopped drinking after my test. Baby is 8 months old, beautiful, & meeting all her milestones early. I can tell she's smart & has a great sense of humor.

The first few weeks of pregnancy the baby isn’t directly nourished by you, as the placenta isn’t developed yet. It’s still not ideal but I think you’ll be more than fine! Usually it’s recommended to eat a lot, drink v v slowly and have a lot of water (if you do decide to have a drink during pregnancy) but especially if you stopped drinking since you’ve found out you’re more than fine, not a bad mum and don’t need to worry!!

I happened to do this when I was pregnant with my daughter. I did a good bit of drinking way back when I was 20 ( yes underage, I know many who have done it....32 now..)... over the summer I spent time with friends and would drink frequently on the weekends... found out in September I was about a month or so preggers, and I did a good bit of drinking in July and August. My daughter came out fine 6 pounds 4 ounces. She was tiny. I also didn't eat meat whatsoever throughout my whole pregnancy, couldn't eat meat, when I love it. I also lost weight during my pregnancy, which is generally a no no. Point being if you didn't know you were pregnant it's fine. However doctors are going to "advise" you to stop drinking because it can cause birth defects on the baby if you drink throughout pregnancy. Not in all cases, but a majority.
