I ordered a cape sundew plant from California carnivores and you just keep them in a tray of distilled water, they catch and eat all your nats and flies!
Yep, boiling water down all drains!
Are nats just another word for fruit flies?
@Carina I was wondering this lol, I think it's an American thing
@Kate I'm from America 😅
@Carina ohh aha 🤣 that rules that out
Naw, gnats and fruit flies aren't the same things 😅
Pour boiling water down the drain! It’s where they hide their eggs
Yeeeees!!! I bought the electric thing but it still doesn’t beat the old fashioned vinegar and dish soap. In the middle of the drain thing now.
Super surprised no other comments said this yet. I have the BEST trick! A small bowl filled with apple cider vinegar and cover it with saran wrap. Poke a few holes in the top with the tip of a knife. The gnats go in and can't come out and die in there! I wash it out about once a week and start over fresh again. I set it out near my fresh fruit on the counter. It's magic!
Sticky paper always worked better than the vinegar bowl trick for me. But definitely you need to find where they may be reproducing or else they’ll keep coming. You may need to clean the drain every day until you see no more flies cus you don’t want them to keep nesting. Keep food covered, counters clean, trash with lids.
I put out a small bowl with a spoonful of sugar, dash a lemon juice, and dawn dish detergent
Yes I can’t stand them either
Do you have houseplants? I am a bit plant obsessed, and unfortunately some come home from the store in the dirt. I get yellow sticky traps from Amazon and they catch the adults nicely.
I set out a cup or bowl of a piece of fruit sliced up (typically an apple or orange)and fill it up with apple cider vinegar and a little dish soap. Works like a charm and all gnats are gone within a couple days. Usually place them wherever I see them most (kitchen).
