You'll usually be contacted to go view the property, usually top 3 shortlisted go. If its a newbuild though chances are... its yours. We got shortlisted and each person that got shortlisted got their own property in the newbuild that day. It was like Christmas 😭🙏
Yeah it is a new build. They didn’t tell me what position in the shortlist I was though well I’m not sure because I couldn’t hear her properly at some points, the new build isn’t fully built yet so would they send pictures first then arrange a viewing? Aww I hope I’d get one of the flats I’m so excited!!!x

We were third in the shortlist but turns out all 13 people on the day got a flat. Our flats weren't 100% ready yet in thornton heath and it took almost 1month from the day they called to us signing the contract. It took housing association about 2 weeks to call. I kept annoying them lol
@Louise so I applied in august 2021 they gave me my bidding details in January 2022 so I’d say from actually bidding it’s been a year and a half x

When my mum got the call it was relatively quick. Took less than 2 months from the initial call to moving in. They'll probably contact you to do a financial check so get all your payments in order and they may ask for a contract for the place you're currently in. My mum also got a new build and around a week after they finalised the checks the housing association took over and scheduled a visit :) I hope it's a smooth process for you!!

Your sooo lucky Croydon council won’t even help us 🤦🏼♀️ there is already me, my partner and our nearly 9 year old daughter in a 1 bedroom and we are due a boy in 4 weeks and they won’t even put us on the waiting list cause we don’t need a 2 bedroom 🙈 2 adults 2 children’s in one room what the hell x
@Lucy tbh it is so bad! What I do know about the council now though is that they expect you to use your front room as a bedroom so they wouldn’t consider it! Try and see if you can exchange with someone who has a 2 bedroom and is trying to downsize to a one bedroom, I’m sorry you are going through that x
We can’t really use our front room as a bedroom tho as our kitchen is open plan 🙈. We are with a housing Association at the min and they won’t even help us. We’ve even asked if we can put our names down for a different cancil and they have said no 🤷♀️🤦🏼♀️ xx
@Lucy I’m so sorry that you are suffering! Well Iv heard that from others that they’ve been told that which doesn’t make sense to me at all! Have you tried going for an exchange to get a 2 bedroom?? I would definitely not get off their case about sizing up x
@Mercedes we can’t do a exchange cause we are in a disabled property so need someone that fits the needs we have tired this. Once baby is here I’m going to fill forms out again. I fillled them out in fed and they said if can take up to 18 months for a reply 🤦🏼♀️ good luck xx

Can I ask what your circumstances were when you joined the list. What band you were in and how long you have had to wait? Hope you don’t mind me asking. I joined list for sutton council in April and I’m in band D and always so very near to the bottom. Just me and my 9 month old. In emergency accommodation.
