Sore red nappy rash nursery

Anyone else’s baby getting a sore red bum after starting nursery? I don’t want to seem like I’m nagging them but I don’t think they are changing my sons annoy enough so he’s getting a really sore nappy. Rash he never used to get before starting nursery.

Oh I know exactly what you mean! We've gone through this as well, I pack 6 nappies and only 1 or 2 is used through out the day!! I mean I know they say up to 12hrs of dryness but with a sore bum perhaps that's telling he needs regular changing? It was hard for us as every little thing was a concern for us and not to mention bugs after bugs. However our LG has settled now after 3months of going so hopefully your son will too.

Definitely tell them! Your son can’t so please do. If they’re not noticing he has nappy rash due to not being changed enough I’m not sure I’d want them looking after my child tbh. I know nappy rash can happen for alsorts of reasons but like you say, he’s never had it much before.

There’s nothing wrong with being a mum who stands up for a baby who can’t do so themselves! 100% be that mum. You’re paying enough money for their care. The least they could do is change him frequently to avoid getting sore. They have a standard of care to uphold and if they’re not, tell them.

Mention it to them, count the nappies you pack and count again when you pick him up. Do they give you a feedback sheet? In my setting we fill out a feedback sheet on what they have eaten, what times they've been changed (also whether wet or dirty) and what activities, bottles etc they have/do

I found the same but I know they’re changing him often but I think they don’t put sudocream when he is red so it just never gets better. I need to keep reminding them :/

I mentioned it the day of writing this post to them because he never had nappy rash ever before starting nursery but I changed his nappy even if it was barely wet. So they said they would. Unfortunately I can’t keep count of the nappies as I give them a pack to keep at the nursery and they tell me when they need more nappies ,and I give them a new pack. but I will do this in future(when they run out)and pack the nappies for the day so I can keep track. His poor little bott was very red lastnight so he had nappy free time before bed.
