i think youd need to send the whole front and back of the form so maybe ask your midwife for a new one to send to them
@Ash thank you! So you sent it with the maternity allowance one and they then sent it back? I haven’t had any docs back from my application
yep, sent it all in an envelope together and they sent the matb1 back to me via post
I'm a bit confused, can anyone send their matb1 form to dwp? To get maternity allowance? Or is this because you're unemployed?
@N i think anyone can within the guidelines, you dont have to be unemployed to be able to apply for it
@N it’s because I’m not entitled to company maternity or statutory maternity through my employer so maternity allowance is paid through the government

I sent mine away with the application just before Christmas and have not heard anything back for the sure start grant it line it does say up to 30 working days. Do you need the MATB1 to apply for other things? My midwife said she would give me one and that’s it lol x
@Annalise yes you do need it for the sure start, maternity allowance and also your employer! Typically they all want originals 😂🤷🏽♀️
I have to my employer already but I’m hoping they send it back then lol
Hey just an update - I’ve spoken to sure start today and they have confirmed that they already have a copy of the MATB so I just have to write a note on the application for sure start and then don’t need to include it!
Oh well I have sent it already hope they send it back. Are they quick at the reply’s?
i sent my matb1 with the forms and got it sent back to me in the mail about a week or so later
