Used water wipe’s straightaway with my first all good too. X
Water wipes in hospital for sure. I've heard stories of how hard it is to use cotton wool and water in the hospital setting and then see how we are getting on when home
Cotton wool and water whilst newborn, then will move onto wipes
Water wipes. Did this with my first and will do the same with this one! No messing about with water and cotton wool lol. Xx
Definitely just cotton wool and warm water to start with. Their skin is so delicate and sensitive when they first come out. Also I wouldn't want to use cold wipes on a newborn. We used cotton wool for my first and it was easy, even in hospital.
Cloth wipes and water. With my first we started with cotton wool, the first time I used a wet wipe I decided to buy cloth wipes because I’d heard they were better and cleaning up and the wet wipes were a bit pathetic, needed loads compared to 1/2 cloth wipes. With my second we just went straight to cloth wipes and will do the same again.
@Kierrah where do you get your cloth wipes and how do you wash them? Do you need to wash them daily?
Wipes all the way. Cotton wool just stresses me out and makes more of a mess.
@Amie especially for those first poos 🙈
@Holly we have bells bumz ones, I think Pumpkin Brown had them on sale atm. Our cheeky wipes did not hold up well, Bells are still good aside from damage that’s my fault. I wash them with cloth nappies mostly but when there’s no nappies it’s similar still but the second wash is with white clothes. So use the wipe, put it in a basket till I wash, do a first wash (40°, half does of detergent and maybe some bleach or stain remover for an hour) every day or two and then after max 4 days do a second wash (40°, full dose of detergent for 2 hours)
Btw 40 wipes was good for my first and I doubled it for my second which was just about enough but we use the for all sorts now too, no paper towels.
I used water wipes from birth with my first and will do again for this baby x
