Anyone else changed from Aptamil to Hipp Organic formula

My LO is 10 weeks old but had always suffered from gas/colic. I was breastfeeding and then supplementing with formula which was Aptamil. Then from about 7 weeks onwards he became even more gassy/windy couldn’t sleep at night so I decide to switch his formula to Hipp Organic. The first day was such a difference, he slept and was much more peaceful but now on the second day he has had so much gas I think it’s worse than before. He couldn’t sleep at all last night unless on me Has anyone else switched to Hipp and how did you find it? Should I preserve with it or go back to Aptamil? I have also been using infacol and gripe water. Went to the GP who was no help.

Should also add the gassiness and pain became so bad a couple of weeks ago that he wouldn’t lie down to breast feed and so I’ve now stopped BF.

If you change formula, baby will need a bit of time to adjust. We’ve been on Hipp since the beginning but we do add colief into it and give him infacol to help with his wind. Every baby is different though, hope your little one settles soon 💜

It can take 2 weeks for baby can get used to new formula and can cause an upset stomach to start with. But it should settle completely within 2 weeks xx

Honestly i put the gassiness on the formula mixing with soany bubbles nomatter the method. Aptamil/C&G and Hipp were all the same for me (i used AR versions with my baby as she has reflux) but used two of the normal ones with my first and same issue. I changed to Aldi Mamia with my first and now back to using it with my baby with Carobel just to thicken it anf she is much much more settled RE gas issues. Highly rate that milk and the bubbles just dissipate into nothing.

@Christiana Yes and I’ve ruled it out as he has no symptoms of CMPA at all. I did consider lactose intolerance so started adding colief to the Aptamil but wasn’t sure if that made a difference or not.

@Asna try a goat milk based formula x

@Caz I’ve been using the ready to feed instant formula not the powder
