How to keep toddler from climbing and jumping on pregnant belly?

I know babies are pretty cushioned in there but my kid is always jumping on me and hitting (unintentionally) my belly. I usually catch him and we try to explain that he needs to be gentle because there’s a baby in there. I’ve even shown him photos of what babies look like inside the belly to help him kind of understand. I just don’t want to take a chance on him accidentally harming baby even though I know it would take a really hard hit. What did y’all do?

I honestly just let mine bounce on my thighs and slap my chest. I also intentionally have physical play where she’s jumping on my but I’m catching her or I let her bounce on my sides while I lay on the floor. On top of careful play like this I’ve been teaching baby brother is in here and I have her give my belly hugs and kisses.

Just that. We say gentle and don’t hit. But if he does it we just say be careful and that’s it. If he kept doing it I would stand up and walk away but other than that baby is fine

I’ve been incredibly lucky that most of the kids I’ve been around while pregnant have been extremely gentle. It does take getting used to for them though so continue explaining there’s a baby in there and the baby can get hurt if we’re too rough. If they continued to hit or whatever I would distance myself and say no I can’t play with you because you aren’t being gentle with me. I once had a 30lb toddler jump full speed onto my stomach at 7 or 8 months pregnant. It hurt like crazy but all was well

Thank you, ladies! I feel reassured ❤️
