Wedding venues

Any recommendations for small venues for ceremony and reception in SoCal? I would love a DIY venue for about 80-100 people. Everything I find though has $22k+ packages that don’t allow me to use my own vendors..

I'm getting married at The 1909 in Topanga Canyon next month. Gorgeous. https://www.the1909.com/ Their venue fee is only $7,500. You can rent all the tableware, tables, chairs, etc from them if you want. And the restaurant right nextdoor can cater if you want. There's also a coordinator that works with the venue a lot who can recommend vendors who have also worked at the venue before. Total, we've only spent $20K for everything. ("Only" 😭 but as cheap as they get in CA) If you want, message me and I can send you a breakout of all the expenses.

@Elaine We were going to get married at the 1909 but after we toured the venue and received the final quote it was coming out to 28k. They told us they weren’t allowing a dj outside and the music had to be in the other building across the outdoor area. As gorgeous as the venue was we thought that having the music separate would affect the wedding vibe. They also told us that 90 people was the max that was allowed and we had a guest list of 100.

@Alejandra DANG! 28 just for the venue?! That's insane! I think ours came out to around 12 or 13k (including the rustic package and photo booth). When was this? We're definitely having music play outside during dinner, but yeah, the dancing and everything will be inside. I really like that the venue is dog-friendly ❤️

Trademark venues! They require you to use a few of their vendors but depending on the day you can get a good price, I got married on a Monday and it was less than 20k

unfortunately the average cost of a wedding is like $45,000 at the moment, even destination weddings are cheaper than having a wedding in your hometown. only one of my dresses cost $10,000. we’re doing a destiny wedding though so i think the dress is the most expensive part so far lol

I found it more affordable to rent from government venues. The maxwell house in Pasadena was great for your size. https://www.maxwellhousepasadena.com/ General site to comb through https://www.laparks.org/banquet

One of my friends also rented this venue and it worked well: https://www.laparks.org/horticulture/orcutt-ranch
