CEPH Brim

I had my 34 week midwife appointment today and my midwife said my baby is low down. I returned home and looked at my maternity notes and it says CEPH (presenting part of lie) and Brim (relation to brim). This is the first time it’s said this. Can someone explain to me what this means?

Cephalic is the best position (head down, facing back) so I assume that’s what ceph means. Unsure about brim, maybe they’re just not all the way down yet? My baby is cephalic but their head is still free/not fully down in the pelvis yet

If only they made these notes easy to understand 🤣 So my baby is head down and engaged? x

@Eloise Bailey I would guess that your baby is head down but not engaged. So 1/5, and fully engaged would be 5/5. But that’s just what I would assume

@Eloise Bailey so brim means your babies head is entering your pelvis so their head is on the pelvic brin
