Preemie Clothes

Am I supposed to buy preemie clothes just in case? Or should I just buy newborn and up? I’m a first time mom and just wondering.

Unless you're planning on having a particularly small baby I would suggest just getting 0 to 3 months newborns will only fit them for a very short amount of time I mean there's no point in getting preemie unless you have a preemie

My daughter was born just a couple weeks early and her newborn clothes were big, but she filled them in so quickly it would’ve been a waste to buy preemie clothes. I did have to buy one pack of preemie diapers but that was it.

I would have one or two things in newborn size but mostly 0-3. We had a going home outfit in newborn size and then some second hand clothes that a friend gave us, our baby came 3 weeks early and we had to buy a few more newborn outfits once home but I’d definitely advise doing it that way if needed vs having a lot of newborn size you won’t use. I would not buy any preemie.

I had a couple things in newborn, because 0-3 were too big for her and hard to keep on her when she was born

My son was 8lbs 13 is when born and 21 inches. He wore newborn for maybe 2 weeks if that. I wouldn’t buy premie until you know you need them

I was expecting a big baby with my first cuz my mom had 2 almost 10lbs babies. My brother was 4 weeks early and was over 7lbs. Pretty much the pattern with babies born into the family, all 9+lbs My first was born at 37w, 5lbs 12 oz. Didn't fit into newborn clothes until she was 2 weeks lol. Wore NB for 5 weeks. I would keep a few NB on hand for sure but not necessarily premiee

I’m buying preemie because I am having twins and they are expected to be on the smaller side. If I was having a singleton, I think I would hold off on the preemie clothes.
