Neocate LCP

Hi, We have just been prescribed Neocate instead of Nutramigen but I just want to check how to make this? It says to let boiled water cool for 30 minutes - does this still need to stay warm to kill bacteria? Or is this the same as Nutramigen and the boiled water can cool to room temperature and be used later? Also, did anyone that has swapped over do a straight swap or mix the formulas? Any advice is very welcome! Thank you

Can be cooled to room temp. I was advised to swap straight becuase it’s allergy related they need to ensure the baby is looked after asap becuase causing gut damage, my LO rejected for a few feeds, dont be surprised, its not nice but persevere 🫶🏼 it’s for their own good. I went from Pepti 1 to Neutramogen to Neocate now x

Forgot to add, once boiled and in a sterile bottle it lasts 24 hours, super helpful for feeds on the go! Prep all bottles in the morning ready to rock for the day ahead 🥰🥰 your more than welcome! I hope your LO feels better soon ❤️

I never realised neocate could be made up in advance. That’ll make my day soo much easier😅x

@Julia Water 24hrs, milk after mixing 4 hours, after touching baby’s mouth 1 hour 🥰🫶🏼 xx

@Emily Farrell does the milk have to be in the fridge or can it be made and kept at room temperature for four hours! Sorry so many questions for you! Xx

As above it can be made like nutramigen but if using prep machine or rapid cool etc jusy cool all water to drinking temp and add powder but thays just if baby don't drink it at room temp It can be made and put into the fridge or untouched the milk made up lasts 4 hours on the side for example

I was told can be made with boiling water and fine for 24hrs 🙄

@Vincia Hi, sorry I can’t help in answering your question I wanted to ask about your experience …my LB has been switched to Pepti 1 from Nutramigen and is not doing very well with the new formula. Have you tried the new milk and has it made any difference? Better or worse symptoms? TIA

@Emily Farrell sorry to but in I’ve just been put onto neocate so if I put the boiled water into the bottle the water can last 24 hours then just add the formula? Xx

@Natalia sorry for the delay Natalie, I didn’t see your message! Oh no! That’s such a shame. Nutramigen worked well for us for a while but she developed symptoms again after about 8 weeks. We’ve only managed to get the milk from the pharmacy today. I’ve tried one bottle so far so it’s hard to tell but I will keep you updated! Strangely she hasn’t been sick since this bottle though which I’m really happy about! It might be coincidence though… xx
