Sma Althera watery

My 7 week old daughter has been prescribed sma althera, the consistency is very watery, and the colour is off. She is suffering more with reflux and is constantly hungry. Has anyone else found this with althera?

It’s a very yellow thin formula is althera, may be worth asking if you could potentially have some carobel? If you’ve not already tried it x

I am finding this too with this pescription milk and is wanting more milk then a normal infant would for example he is not even two months yet . After finishing the 150 ml bottle he is looking for more milk . I told doctor as pescription was not lasting and they just increase it instead .

All the cmpa formulas are thin and can make reflux much worse Also the colouring is because of the ingredients but I believe it depends how you make it as I've seen someone made it different ways and colour was different

@Emma-louise this is interesting to know I never knew this :) xx

@Chantelle Smith it was either alfamino or althera but was posted on here with about 4 different pictures I believe We are on neocate but even that has a yellowish tone to it

It will have been althera! It’s so weird, but even after like 10-15 mins it all seems to end up the same colour 🤣😭 it’s awful! My boy LOVES it though 🤮

@Liv I think it stink and so difficult to clean the bottles after 🤣

@Chantelle Smith smells like potato’s, we had nutramigen before and that was an horrific smell! Bottles I use dairy liquid on them, only thing that cleans them for me xx

@Liv I clean them with fairy liquid too and have a sponge scrub on a stick . Oh it does and looks like the water after you cooked them 🤮 Oh was meant to of been prescribed that but it got called back so taken off shelves due to contamination apparently xx

Oh how strange I often make a rapid one I have one of them nuby flasks an absolute life saver cool it down in 2 mins for baby milk ! Best thing I ever got . I also use w on bottle after too x

My daughter had the same issue and she had severe reflux she was put on aptamil pepti 1 and then later put on pepti junior and touch wood we haven’t had an issue with either of those two thankfully. We had to trial like three other milks before getting to the pepti
