I live in portslade and had both mine at Worthing aftercare was all transferred back to Brighton but all appointments and scan beforehand were all at Worthing and all my Midiwfe appointments were at Kingston buci in Shoreham. Worthing it’s luck of the draw weather you actually get it or not and they can’t tell you until you get there
You won't have to change as they are part of the same hospital group, and can continue to have your normal appointments wherever you have been. I had an amazing water birth at HH and would have hated not to have the pool available. The team were excellent and I had no stitches or tearing at all. We have a car though, so made it somewhat easier to travel. Do you have a friend or family member who could be on standby to take you?
Noooo I was planning on trying to use the pool in Brighton 🤦♀️ My partner has actually been in the hospital the last few days and we have been checking out the facilities and cant lie, its a pretty sad looking place so defs going to look at other options!!
@abbie yeah I noticed they put up a message on their Facebook page last week. I know they only had one pool anyway, which wasn’t ideal in the first place. Hopefully Worthing or HH are viable options for you instead.
@Kirsty Bunning thanks that’s really useful. No family nearby unfortunately so we’ll be relying on cabs.
@Hannah thanks that’s reassuring. I’ve had all of my scans now / most of my midwife appointments, so it’s quite late notice to be switching! But hopefully as they’re all as one group it should be ok
@Krystal fab thanks!
Thanks so much for sharing! I dont have facebook so may not have realised. Definitely going to do some research today ❤️ also no idea if this would work but have you thought about renting a car around your due date? Although might be more than cabs and hospital parking 🤦♀️
@abbie no worries! Yeah we’ve looked into some car club things too which you can grab at fairly late notice. First baby was born 2 weeks late so could rack up 😅
@Marie its so hard to plan isnt it 🤣
https://chng.it/gcRPQxbXn6 I found this if anyone wants to sign
Another option is home birth, where you can hire or buy your own pool. We have a very good home team in Brighton, but I appreciate it's not for everyone!
Had an excellent experience at Worthing. Really supportive doctors and midwives and a really nice birthing suite.
@Kirsty Bunning thanks yeah I really wanted a home birth but unfortunately had some complications with first, so have to be in hospital

I moved to Worthing at 36ish weeks. Midwife etc all stayed in hove and just went there for the actual birth and one blood test a few weeks that they couldn’t move across before - which was actually helpful as could check out where the delivery suite etc were. Have a great experience - would highly recommend!
@Poppy that’s great to know thanks!
Worthing is amazing. I didn't use one of the pools but I got put in a pool room when I went in for monitoring once and it was a lovely calming, clean and comfortable environment. The staff at Worthing are so nice.
Worthing is amazing. Always HH is amazing too!! So either or. Follow up appointments will be there but health visitor appointments etc will be transferred to Brighton
