Agency work

Hi all just curious about I currently work on a temp to perm contract via a recruitment agency and am due to be made permanent anytime soon but I have recently discovered I’m estimated 27 weeks pregnant. I’m worried that when I tell them what if they will decide to not make me permanent or if I won’t receive maternity leave pay. Any ideas? Thank you

You need to tell them by 25 weeks

Wait have you only just found out that your about 27 weeks pregnancy? If so I would let them know ASAP and see if they can sort something out as for maternity pay in normal conditions you have to let them know by 25 weeks x

you legally have tell them at 25 weeks. so i would inform them asap

Hey I have worked for recruitment companies for years Tell them about pregnancy, you should get SMP if you have been for a certain period just like regular workers - otherwise it'll be maternity allowance. Also how long have you been working for the company. If you have been in the same place for 12 weeks continuous then you get AWR (agency worker regulation) whereby you are treated like a perm employee. This means you get to have paid time off for antenatal appointments. Also check their maternity policy and employee handbook. They should have sent the handbook to you prior to registering and a group of policies upon registration

@Emma I’ve been working for them for 12 weeks now, I can’t find any maternity policy through the agency and wasn’t sent any information about the company I work for so have no clue

I would speak to recruitment agency then A rule came in during covid where anyone registering had to he given certain policies and procedures such as Key information document (KID to do with pay), leave etc. Smaller agencies tend to email them to you but the bigger agencies may have put them on a centralised website such as where you send your timesheets etc
