I've been experiencing sciatica type pains. My midwife referred to my prenatal physio about two weeks ago, I've got an appointment on the 12th August. Maybe ask your midwife to submit a referral.
Had this with my first and saw a physio which really helped. They gave me some exercises to do as well! Maybe see if your midwife can refer you?
I'm currently suffering with this too. My midwife referred me for physio but they offered me an online group video call to talk about PGP 🙃 I'm waiting to find out it they'll find an in-person appointment for me, although when I phoned today they said the wait list is so long I wouldn't be seen before giving birth! Following this thread in the hopes of getting some tips to ease the pain!
Thank you everyone! I think I will speak with my midwife see if she can refer me anywhere fingers crossed
Definitely seek help- one of my friends thought she had sciatica, but it was an issue with her pelvis 😬 In the meanwhile, paracetamol, warm bath, sit on a hot water bottle (but not for too long!). I also found some yoga stretches that I wasn’t brave enough to try in the moment 🫣 Also, see if there is a trigger- mine was trying to do too much physical activity 🤗 but there might not be. Sciatica sucks. Good luck 💚
@Becky thank you for your advice, I’m definitely going to get in touch with my midwife and see if she can look into it x
I'm pretty sure I have the same going on. I have a referral to physio but no local appointments and I can't drive outside of town because of pgp so I'm gonna have to call them and see what the options are because I can't drive 50 minutes each way for a 30 minute appointment.
I had really bad sciatica with my first that by the 3rd trimester i couldnt stand up alone without help It was covid time so the only thing they offered me was codeine which i refused to take so someone recommended acupuncture. The pain went away completely after 2nd session even though i was told i will need more
