Has anyone flown pregnant before?

This is my first pregnancy and me and my husband are looking at a holiday in September but I will be 34/35 weeks pregnant. Would this be leaving it a bit close to due date? 😅🙈

I’m currently on holiday at 29/30 weeks! I got a fit to fly letter from my midwife to say all was fine. However, you might struggle to get travel insurance as my travel insurance company said as long as I wasn’t within 8 weeks of my due date it was fine

I’ve flown twice this pregnancy, once at 18 weeks then again at 28 weeks. Midwives’s and GPs can no longer do fit to fly notes so if I obtained one for the 28 weeks flying I would’ve had to go private - so many people I know aren’t asked so I didn’t bother getting one and wasn’t asked for it. But I imagine being 34 weeks you wouldn’t be able to ‘hide’ it and they would probably ask. I felt a bit on edge flying at 28 weeks and coming back 29 weeks if I’m honest. I don’t know if it was anxiety/overthinking but I kept worrying I hadn’t felt baby etc. Most airlines let you fly up to 36 weeks though so you are within that! Just depends how you feel - plus I don’t think holiday helped, the heat and the uncomfortable-ness of pregnancy just meant I couldn’t enjoy it!

I waa 35 returned on week 36 Did a 9.5hr flight I didnt have any issues it depends on airline but tbh nobody checked my certificate or anything and there wasnt a box to tick for pregnant people. Whether its too close to due date is personal for everyone tbh

I’m going on holiday next week 34 weeks and come back at 35 nearly 36 weeks, make sure you have your fit to fly and just wear compression socks!

I’d just check with your dr/ midwife that they do fit to fly notes. I went away at 29 and came back at 30 weeks and my midwife said she doesn’t do fit to flys as how can she say you’re okay to fly when anything in the moment can happen. Luckily the airline I flew with didn’t require to see them and let you fly up to 35 without the note. No one questioned me anyway

I flew early on in pregnancy (around 10 weeks) we had it booked before we found out and we had a baby moon around 28 weeks. My midwife did me a fit to fly and going easyJet never batted an eyelid. My insurance said as long as I had a fit to fly I was fine but coming back the check in staff were more cautious asking how far gone I was etc. I think 28 weeks is the cut off for some airlines but more importantly just make sure you know the area you’re going to and the health facilities nearby just in case x
